Following the success of previous flagship training at NFTS, Beaconsfield, we were delighted to see many ADs across the North West region take advantage of this valuable training, which was free to AD Guild members.
The sessions were taught by Dewi Grifiths, an EP registered tutor with an extensive background in teaching MMS to a range of abilities. Dewi’s clients include BECTU, Screenskills, Sgil Cymru, NFTS, Netflix, Amazon, MBC Dubai and EP LA. Dewi also has real-world experience as an AD and brings a range of experience in teaching this course to our members.
We also launched the first AD Guild merchandise with a range of branded products available such as hats, pens, notebooks and mugs. It was great to see members and non-members learn more about the AD Guild and the aims and ambitions of our organisation.
Following a full day of teaching and a delicious catered lunch, all attendees of the MMS Training day were invited to AD Guild’s Summer Social at the 360 Sky Bar in Liverpool on Saturday from 6pm - 9pm.
The Summer Social offered a great opportunity for ADG members to network with other ADs and to meet others from the region for the first time. It also provided unrivalled views of the city skyline with a drink or two provided by the AD Guild.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to those who helped to host this event - Helen Fraser from the Liverpool Film Office and the team at Screen Manchester.
We will be liaising with the UK’s North East film offices over the next few weeks in the hope of repeating this course in other regions. This would allow us to hold more regional MMS courses for members to access nationwide and to help members to grow their skills and confidence as part of their AD Guild membership.
